Arunagurunatha!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thiruppugazh.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Arunagiri.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-470\" title=\"Arunagiri\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thiruppugazh.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Arunagiri.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"656\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.thiruppugazh.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Arunagiri.jpg 450w, http:\/\/www.thiruppugazh.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Arunagiri-205x300.jpg 205w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The hill that wards of sins, karmas and Vasanas,<br \/>\nthe hill that represents the element of fire,<br \/>\nthe hill that liberates the soul at mere thought,<br \/>\nIt is Tiruvannamalai hill, the abode of Arunachala.<\/p>\n<p>Here, at this sacred place appeared, a brilliant star.<br \/>\nHe was Arunagiri, the embodiment of devotion.<br \/>\nMuruga appeared before him with sparkling Vel<br \/>\nlike thousand brilliant suns rising together.<\/p>\n<p>Manifesting as Guru, Muruga rendered Upadesa,<br \/>\ngave him the chain of sacred beads,<br \/>\nenlightened him with the grace of Jnana<br \/>\nand transformed him into an eloquent poet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSing Thiruppugazh about me\u201d, Lord commanded<br \/>\n\u201cabout my abode, about my Vel and Seval\u201d.<br \/>\nA steady stream of songs flowed from the saint<br \/>\nand the stream of Thiruppugazh immersed all over.<\/p>\n<p>Studded with pearls of devotion and gems of wisdom,<br \/>\nThiruppugazh is indeed a treasure invaluable.<br \/>\nAs it came with the blessing of Muruga<br \/>\nit carried a unique divinity and power.<\/p>\n<p>The light that radiated from Thiruppugazh<br \/>\nawakened us from the world of Maya.<br \/>\nIt taught us the doctrine of Valli Sanmarga,<br \/>\nthe unity of aspiring soul with eternal reality.<\/p>\n<p>The grace that flowed from Thiruppugazh<br \/>\nblessed Guruji Raghavan with an endearing voice;<br \/>\nthe voice that was picked up by thousand other voices,<br \/>\nthe voice that is heard here and far beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Blessed are the devotees gifted with Thiruppuazh;<br \/>\nthe songs elevated them from darkness,<br \/>\nremoved their fears and anxieties<br \/>\nand gave them confidence to live a life of truth.<br \/>\n.<br \/>\nAs I render the beautiful verses of \u2018Kandar Alamgaram\u2019<br \/>\nand marvel at the grandeur and majesty of Muruga<br \/>\nI stand folding my hands before saint Arunagiri<br \/>\nwho wrote those marvelous verses of beauty.<\/p>\n<p>Embroiled in the world of ignorance and myth<br \/>\nI wandered in darkness, without a hold and support<br \/>\ntill at last I found the silver lining of \u2018Anubhuti\u2019<br \/>\nand experienced peace, goodwill and tranquillity.<\/p>\n<p>Rendering \u2018Kandar Anubhuti\u2019 gave me a direction.<br \/>\nAs I remained quiet, still and silent,<br \/>\nliberated from the influence of body and mind<br \/>\nI was transcended to a state of bliss.<\/p>\n<p>He, who renders the resplendent verses of \u2018Anthadi\u2019,<br \/>\nrecites the names of the Lord having no beginning or end,<br \/>\nwould experience the presence of the infinite God<br \/>\nin the deep recess of his heart.<\/p>\n<p>Oh Arunagiri, you got the vision of Muruga<br \/>\nand received the saintly advice direct.<br \/>\nHow compassionate you are to share it with us<br \/>\nand elevate us to your own state<\/p>\n<p>Oh Arunagiri, what a beautiful garland you weaved<br \/>\nwith the fragrant flowers of Thiruppugazh as offering<br \/>\nWe will adorn Muruga with this garland with devotion<br \/>\nand seek to remain at his Lotus Feet for ever.<\/p>\n<p>Oh Arunagiri! you have come as our Guru;<br \/>\ngave Anbargal the nectar of Thiruppugazh,<br \/>\npaving the way for a life of ever-lasting happiness;<br \/>\nhappiness not only in this life but even beyond it.<\/p>\n<p>Oh Arunagiri, come to us every day and inspire us<br \/>\nto chant thy songs for at least \u2018half a minute\u2019<br \/>\nlet thy words of wisdom go through \u2018both my ears\u2019<br \/>\nand let my heart ever brims in devotion to Muruga.<\/p>\n<p>By: V.S.
